Ocean Township, Monmouth County — The Beson for County Commissioner Campaign is excited to announce that it was one of a small number of candidates across the state to earn an endorsement from The Communications Workers of America. The Communications Workers of America (AFL-CIO) represents both private sector and public workers. CWA represents more than 70,000 working families in New Jersey, including over 40,000 state workers, 15,000 county and municipal workers, and thousands of workers in the telecommunications, airlines, healthcare and direct care industries.

Mike Beson, Democrat for Monmouth County Commissioner said, “This endorsement means a significant amount to me, as I have spent my professional career whether it be as a job creator in my small business or in my time as an elected official, I have always prioritized those in the middle class, and struggling to get to the middle class. Unions such as the CWA have led the way in creating upward mobility for so many, and I am proud to accept their endorsement on behalf of their thousands of members in Monmouth.”

Mike Beson’s record of advancing worker rights stands in stark contrast to Sue Kiley. While secretly giving herself a pay raise without public discussion, she has not been responsive to the needs of working men and women throughout Monmouth County. In fact, last year, as reported in The Asbury Park Press, Division of Social Services employees who were exposed to COVID-19 but not sick were required to come into work. This was a disregard by Sue Kiley to the public health of County employees, as was the policy of not requiring masks for workers who were not exposed.

Beson added, “Whether it be ensuring public health in the County workforce, to ensuring they are paid a liveable wage, my tenure as a County Commissioner will be marked with collaboration, not conflict with those county employees who make the country run.”
